On 31st March 2026, the ECO4 Scheme sadly came to an end. But what does this mean for existing applications, and what happens next?

OUR STATEMENT ABOUT THE ECO4 SCHEME ENDING

Over the last few years, we've had the pleasure of helping thousands of households access free ECO4 funding, which has helped them access both a brand-new heating system and ultimately helped them reduce their energy bills.

Unfortunately, the ECO4 Scheme has ended on 31st March 2026, which sadly impacts households that may have just heard about the scheme, as new applications for the funding can no longer be submitted.

As a result, we are no longer able to take on any new applications; however, any applications that have been submitted and are ongoing with installers will continue to be processed as normal with your installation partner.

We'd like to thank all of those households we have worked with and those that have supported us over the years, and we look forward to the next steps in the Honest journey.

IS THERE A PLAN TO REPLACE THE ECO4 SCHEME?

Following the announcement that the ECO4 Scheme will end on 31st March 2026, the current Labour Government announced their brand new Warm Homes Plan.

So what is it?

It is their promises to provide £15bn to households across the UK over the next five years, as well as introducing new rights for renters, to help tackle soaring energy bills.

I have an ongoing application. Who do I contact?
If your application has been processed by one of our installing partners, you must contact your installer directly using the contact details we provided you to discuss next steps.
 
Your installation team will be able to discuss everything from your survey date, the heating measures that you can access, and what aftercare follows the installation of the measures in your home.
Is it too late to submit a new application?
Unfortunately, no new applications for the ECO4 Scheme can be processed at this time. However, the current Labour Government has announced its new Warm Homes Plan, which aims to support UK households with soaring energy bills.

Why has the ECO4 Scheme ended?
The ECO4 scheme has ended and will be replaced with the Warm Homes Plan by the end of 2026 in order to shift focus toward long-term, low-carbon heating solutions.

Can you liaise with my installation team on my behalf?
Unfortunately not. Now that the ECO4 Scheme has ended, we can no longer act as the go-between between the installation partners and the named person on the ECO4 application.

What is the Warm Homes Plan?
It is the UK Government’s new £15 billion plan that aims to upgrade 5 million homes by 2030, cutting bills and fuel poverty.

Who I contact after the heating system is installed?
If you require any support relating to your new heating system, you need to speaking with your installation partner directly to discuss the best course of action.
