The Great British Insulation Scheme, often referred to as GBIS, is a relatively new Government energy efficiency scheme which is to be administered by Ofgem. The purpose of the scheme is to improve the least energy-efficient homes in the UK in order to help reduce energy bills and tackle 'fuel poverty'.
It is a scheme that complements the Government's already popular Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme, however, there is one key difference.
Whilst the ECO4 scheme could look at a house as a whole to deliver multiple measures to make it more energy efficient, the GBIS scheme generally looks at delivering single insulation measures instead.
You might get support if your home:
No benefit? No problem. Unlike other schemes, you do not need to be in receipt of a benefit.
Your living situation
You can be a homeowner, landlord or tenant (either renting privately or from a housing association).
If you’re a tenant, speak to your landlord before you apply. You’ll need their permission before any insulation can be installed.
We just need a few details to figure out what upgrades you’re eligible for. A member of our team will then give you a call from an 0191 number to discuss your options.
Or, give us a call on 0191 640 1450. We’ll be able to tell you what you can access within a few minutes.
